Mothers Day Ideas
Mothers are hard.
Every year, whether it is her birthday, Christmas or the dreaded, Mothers Day, whenever I try to shop I always end up in some tacky crystal store buying her the 50th pack of incense.
So eventually I stopped and just let her put her book depository order on my card.
However this year I want to do something special, scrap the jewellery and the scented candles - instead concentrate on spending the day with her. I've complied a lovely little list of Mothers Day Ideas that either just the two of you can enjoy or that can be done with the whole family!
Breakfast in Bed
The more traditional way to spoil your mum this Mothers Day! Whip out the croissants and the OJ! It is back baby!
Morning Walks
Tie up the laces on your sneakers and go for a walk. Try a coastal walk or head into the national park! Bring along other family members and make a day of it!
Pampering
Mani-pedis, wash and blow-dry or facials... Try getting joint appointments so you can do it together!
Set Lunch
Every resturant under the sun has a mothers day special. Take her to one that offers alcohol (she has to deal with you, she deserves it) and spend the day sipping on cocktails and sharing a seafood platter. Make sure you make a reservation!
Day Class
Make cheese, take an art class, learn how to put together a bunch of flowers... Have a look what your local area offers!
Fruit and Flower Picking
Go on a little drive to a farm close by and spend the day picking strawberries and cutting flowers. Whilst you are out in the country, try a wine tasting, just for the sake of it!
Picnic
Its not a list without a the idea of a picnic. Grab a bottle of wine, some gracing food and find a nice spot you can all sit down and chat! Trust me - this is way better then a scented candle.
