2020 has been real, I think we can all agree on that. Over the past few months, we haven’t racked up any frequent flyer points or added any new stamps to our passport, but what we have achieved instead, is to FINALLY get through all the series on our Netflix/ Stan/ Hayu streaming accounts (Which I like to think is QUITE the achievement tbh). However it has left us feeling a little lost now that we’ve exhausted everything… ENTER- new kid on the streaming block: Binge. Owned by Foxtel, this streaming service has all the freshest international shows at your finger tips… safe to say- we’re hooked. We’ve taken the absolute pleasure of sifting through all the options, and bring to you our definitive list of MUST-WATCH shows and movies to binge on this weekend….

Comedies

In need of a laugh this weekend? Don’t worry. This category has you COVERED. You can find all your ALL-TIME faves here, with iconic comedy classics The Office, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.

Perfect for: Those of you locked in the house with your families this weekend, these shows will have everyone laughing out loud and diffusing any fights over who’s controlling the remote.

Addictive dramas

Ok, so we can say we have well and truly spent a significant chunk of our lives on these shows, and we are not mad about it. Not even slightly. From absolutely timeless classics like the O.C (we’ve been revisiting our teen years with this one… the drama is juicy as ever, we still stan Seth and Summer, and had a little giggle at the early 00’s fashion), The Walking Dead, True Blood and American Horror Story, to killer newbies like Euphoria (you know that bright eyeshadow and glitter makeup trend thats been everywhere recently- it started here) and the eerily relevant tech drama Devs, these Emmy-award winning shows will have you hooked.

Perfect for: Housemate bonding night. Grab your comfiest loungewear outfit, share a pizza and settle in- you guys will be here for the long haul.

True Crime

Fancy yourself as an undercover sleuth? Ok Nancy Drew, these are for you. True crime series have really taken off this year, and its easy to see why. They will have you on the edge of your seat, piecing together the puzzle and the many plot twists will keep your mind spinning. If this is your kind of thing we recommend The first 48, Children of the Snow, Forensic Files and The Unexplained. Keep in mind some of these could be a little dark and distressing for some, as they do cover some heavy subject material.

Perfect for: A night on the couch with your bestie. You’re definitely going to want some company with these. You and your bestie can bounce ideas off each other, you cute lil detectives you! A cosy blanket and puppy to cuddle are must-haves!

Reality TV

We don’t ever really need an excuse to watch trashy reality tv, but if you do- we think the entire ordeal that has been 2020, is a good enough excuse to indulge in some OTT drama. Binge has an extensive reality show catalogue, so you’re really spoilt for choice. Get lost in another world (a very dramatic world) with Real Housewives, Million Dollar Listings, Geordie Shore, Vanderpump Rules and reality’s royal Family- Keeping Up With The Kardashians!

Perfect for: Girls night in. Grab your closest girlfriends, open a bottle of wine and get ready to gossip the night away.

Documentaries

Sometimes you really just get in the mood to watch a good documentary, no? We do. There’s something therapeutic about a documentary narrators voice that just calms like no other… David Attenborough anyone? IYKYK. Theres so many options on binge so you can really take your pick, but we loved The Universe, Titanic: Stories From The Deep, and the entire Blue Planet series. Entertaining AND educational.

Perfect for: Me time! Sometimes you just have to stay home and chill on a weekend. Pop on a face mask and have the chocolate on stand by! Treat Yo’self baby!

Hollywood Classic Films

Sometimes we all just need to settle into a good blockbuster. Binge isn’t short on the options either. With a killer selection of every genre, theres something to suit every mood. We’re currently obsessed with Space Jam- the vintage 90’s sports aesthetic is EPIC, Mean Girls ( If you can’t quote it then you haven’t watched it enough), Jurassic World, Wimbledon, Charlie’s Angels and the entire Tarantino Category. There is even a “Surprise Me” option for those of us who are too indecisive to choose!

Perfect for: Date night with bae. Date nights have looked a little different this year, with many of us in lockdown. Get cosy on the couch, order in some food from your fave restaurant and open the wine…. Better than the Cinema IMO!
